Pumped up kicks

So this blogpost is inspired by two main things that have come into my attention: Beyonce and Marc Jacobs sneaker wedges.

The reason for this being, Marc Jacobs has SNEAKER WEDGES. Please tell me that's not something you've dreamed of ever since you saw Beyonce sporting sneaker wedges in her "Love on Top" video (that's when my obsession started). Which also brings Beyonce into the picture, because atleast for me, these shoes only came to my attention when I saw her wearing them.

Beyonce wore Isabel Marant's high-top sneakers. Ever since this video came out I've been craving these black sneaker wedges. Wedges plus high-tops, where's wrong there?

Also in more news about Beyonce, she has officially opened up her own tumblr page. Just thought for anyone who blogs or use tumblr, this would probably be something you're interested in. And if you're really interested, you can follow her daughter's tumblr. (I gotta admit, it's pretty cute if you're one of those omg-I-just-saw-baby-clothes-and-it's-sooo-cute people).

In any case I noticed Marc Jacobs came out with his own style of the trend.

The wedges all have a hidden wedge, so you can't really tell unless you futher inspect it. These were all part of Marc Jacobs' Spring 2012 collection, and I think the colors are very fitting for spring. Although I'm not really a bright color gal myself, I would say my favorites are split between the multicolored ones and the all white ones. Who wouldn't look good in just complete white high-top wedges? Something so edgy with such a soft toned color. That would probably be my pick, if I had to choose.

Rihanna in Elle

As a fellow tanned skin woman with recently bleached blonde hair, I can appreciate Rihanna's look. In this shoot especially, she came off as sultry and sexy, but in a very subtle way. According to Elle, the shoot was inspired by "a windswept town evocative of documentary photographer Robert Polidori’s shots of deserted, patina-rich Havana interiors." I'm pretty sure the main thing everyone is focusing on in these photos is how effortlessly sexy Rihanna can look in anything from a black lace bra to being [almost] fully covered in a yellow lambskin skirt and jacket.

The thing I found most intriguing about this shoot is their use of colors. In the editorial pictures, Rihanna was mainly dressed in neutral colors: white and black. And her "white" outfits consisted of a more innocent-girl-next-door Rihanna, while the "black" outfits illustrated the vixen side of her. In any case, she looks gorgeous in this photoshoot, so props to Robert Polidori for reminding us all just how beautiful Rihanna really is (not that any of us needed to be reminded, I mean it's Rihanna for goodness' sake).

Little miss vixen outfits:

To be quite honest, I think I prefer the little miss vixen outfits. I think it just fits Rihanna's personality more.. ahem her song S&M. In any case, I love her blonde hair and she looks fantastic on the cover of Elle. It's always nice to see a change in Elle's covergirls rather than their usual selections.
